In drei Wochen finden die Game Awards 2020 statt. The Last of Us: Part 2 und Hades dominieren die Nominiertenliste.

Am 10. Dezember 2020 soll Cyberpunk 2077 erscheinen. Aber nicht nur das: Am selben Tag werden auch die Game Awards 2020 verliehen, zumindest aus US-amerikanischer Sicht. Für uns in Deutschland findet die Verleihung erst am 11. Dezember um 1 Uhr statt – 1 Uhr morgens, versteht sich. Wollt ihr die Show live schauen, müsst ihr also eine Nachtschicht einlegen.

Ob ihr euch die Sendung überhaupt ansehen wollt, hängt vielleicht von den Nominierten ab. Die stehen nun fest, was auch bedeutet, dass ihr fortan für eure Lieblingsspiele voten könnt. Die Stimmen der Spieler zählen jedoch nur zu zehn Prozent, die restlichen 90 Prozent machen die Urteile der Jury aus, die sich aus internationalen Pressevertretern und einigen Influencern mit Behinderungen zusammensetzt.

In 30 Kategorien werden Preise vergeben. Am häufigsten sind The Last of Us: Part 2 und Hades nominiert. Beide haben die Chance auf zehn Auszeichnungen, unter anderem für das Spiel des Jahres. Weitere Titel mit hohen Chancen auf Preise sind Final Fantasy 7 Remake (acht Nominierungen) und Ghost of Tsushima (sieben Nominierungen).
